Neil Sawford – Partner

“The great thing about this job is the people. I’ve been part of Sawford Bullard for over thirty years and it’s a privilege to share the journey with our clients and staff. We know that people are at the heart of any organisation and our aim is to understand their hopes and dreams, help them to achieve their goals and provide support in times of trouble. My advice to any professional is to be a good listener; it’s often the things that people don’t say that are the most significant. Outside of work? Well, it’s the same theme, my family come first, second and third.”

James Parsons – Partner

I qualified with ACCA in 2011 and have been with Sawford Bullard since 2006. I work mainly with corporate clients, whether preparing accounts, helping with Sage, designing systems or even solving computer problems! I work closely with clients and am proud to have built strong relationships during my time at Sawford Bullard. In my personal time I enjoy going to the gym and have a big interest in cars and motorsport.

Colin Fletcher – Business Services

“I am a Chartered accountant with nearly 30 years of experience in the profession. I’m very much a general practitioner, specialising in owner managed businesses, audit and business advice.

I find that a hands-on approach, drawing from experiences in my career, and using continually updated developments affecting the profession, is the most useful tool in helping clients resolve issues and achieve their own dreams.”

Robert de Boer – Business services

“I have spent my working life as part of the close knit team at Sawford Bullard. My role involves preparing accounts for a diverse range of clients and during my time I have enjoyed dealing with people from all walks of life, some of whom I view not only as clients but as friends.”

Away from work I enjoy being outdoors and like to walk, preferably in the countryside or along a canal side towpath.

Jodie McAlindon – Business services

I joined Sawford Bullard in 2007, studied for my ACCA exams and became qualified in 2013.

I deal with the preparation of accounts for corporate and non-corporate clients in addition to maintaining company secretarial records, VAT returns and assisting clients with the computerised accounting systems.

Working within a busy team environment has helped to develop my skills and ensures that I am able to deal with a variety of different types of clients.

I am a football fan, enjoy eating out and of course shopping!

Annette Valentine – Business services

“I joined Sawford Bullard in 2000 having operated my own book-keeping business for ten years and this has helped me to understand the pressures faced by our clients.

Being a member of staff at Sawford Bullard is like being part of a family with a caring ethos for both clients and staff alike.”

Outside of work my family is a high priority together with practicing, studying and teaching Buddhism.

Pat Warren – Taxation

“After leaving University, I started my career in taxation at the Inland Revenue and then defected to the other side when I joined Sawford Bullard in 1990.

It’s a pleasure working with such a friendly team and my aim is to provide professional help and advice to our many interesting clients with the bonus of developing longstanding friendships. My leisure time is devoted to my family, travel and the theatre.”

Sheryl Scarrott – Business services and support

I started working as a receptionist and then progressed on to becoming an office junior when employed by Sawford Bullard. This culminated in being given an opportunity to studying for AAT. During this time I moved on to operating payrolls, preparation of VAT returns and accounts preparation jobs.

In 2010 I left for 9 months on maternity leave and had my daughter. On my return I added a further string to my bow by becoming an administrator for a few clients.

Lara Houghton – Business support

I have now been with Sawford Bullard for just over a year and I am involved with administrative support. I am often the first point of contact with our clients and have enjoyed building a rapport with them.

I am progressing within the team and I am part of an Outsource Administration Team for one of our Clients. Alongside this I am studying for a qualification in Business and Administration. Outside of work I enjoy watching films and socialising with friends.
